The History of Homecoming at Johnson C. Smith University
Homecoming at Johnson C. Smith University has been an important and festive occasion on campus since the 1920's. It has been an opportunity for student athletics, style, and culture to intersect and interact, and it gives Smithites a chance to feel pride in themselves and in their school. Throughout its history the events and themes surrounding Homecoming have been shaped by the evolution of the school's students and administrators as well as by changes going on in the world outside of JCSU's walls. This online exhibit will show photographs and newsletters chronicling the history of Homecoming football games, queens, and parades at Johnson C. Smith University from the 1920's until the 1980's.
